MINOT, N.D. (KFYR) -- Cowboys from around the state gathered to kick off a year full of events for the 2018 North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame.
They also announced the nominees for this year’s Hall of Fame Class. There are eight categories this year, including ranching, rodeo and livestock, but some years there can be up to 11 categories.
“Modern-day rodeo and pre-1970 rodeo are those rodeo champions. Some of them have actually been world champions, not just North Dakota champions,” said Hall of Fame President Jim Chamley.
The Cowboy Hall of Fame's next event comes at the end of April with the 2018 season premiere in Medora.
