A new clothing store opened in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota this week. The Nines Kids opened on Washington Ave and is across from the The Nines.

The owner of the Nines says they started with just a few mommy and me outfits and got more requests for children's clothes.

"I was in awe at how many little girls would come shopping with their mom at The Nines and tell me how they couldn't wait to be able to fit into our clothes someday," said The Nines and Nines Kids owner, Lauren Zima.

Zima says their store carried some racks of children's clothes in their adult store but it eventually turned into her telling her husband they need another store.

The Nines Kids sells boys and girls clothes starting at infant sizes up to tween sizes and accessories. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Zima says her stores are different than most clothing stores because she looks for a variety of styles that can fit any occasion. Zima isn't slowing down and enjoying the glory of her new store opening, she is focusing on a new business venture.

"Right now we are focusing on launching another new business of a totally different nature this fall in Detroit Lakes that we will be unveiling in the near future," said Zima.

Zima says she plans on meeting with the Kilbourne Group this summer to discuss a few of the upcoming projects they are working on in Fargo and to see if The Nines or The Nines Kids would be a good fit.
