Some people are looking to move after another crime happened on Belsly Boulevard in Moorhead early Monday morning. This is the latest incident in what some consider a troubled neighborhood.

"We have to move from here. we have to keep looking to not live here any more, it is just not a safe environment," said Lydia Shaia.

An 18-year old and 16 year old boy were attacked with a shovel and a brick. It sent one of them to the hospital with significant facial injuries. Moorhead Police arrested 43-year-old Jerome Walker of Moorhead on two counts of felony 2nd degree assault. Police say the victims knew Walker.

Neighbors say they woke up to lots of screaming and yelling just about 1:30 in the morning.

"I didn't know what was going on," said Mira Shaia. "I didn't want to get up to see through the window I was so scared. Then they were all yelling, let's go, run. They all ran and then there was police coming."

16-year old Shaia says it happened outside her bedroom window in the town homes next to hers.

"They were yelling like fighting, like they wanted to fight," explained Shaia.

Her sister was in the room next door heard the commotion as well.

"Someone calling for help. Help and why did you hit him?" Lydia Shaia said she heard the people yell.

Other neighbors who didn't want to appear on camera say they believe the people were drinking when the incident happened. Other people that know everyone involved say its not a big deal. But to the Shaia family and others nearby they disagree.

"This neighborhood just scares us," stated Mira Shaia.

The Shaia family says they've had enough and are looking to move.

"I'd like the police to know this place isn't safe and to keep this under their radar," said Lydia Shaia. "In case something like that happens again, and it's going to happen."

Moorhead Police say this is not a random assault and will continue to investigate.
