N.D. Senate passes medical marijuana bill

Pot is coming to North Dakota, legally for medical use. The Senate passed the bill Thursday and it will head to the governor's desk for his signature.
Law makers have labored over medical marijuana for months, trying to balance the desires of voters, who passed a law legalizing it last fall, and the need to enforce and regulate it. After many changes patients will be allowed to use smokeable products but edibles will not be legal. Legislators say it's what the people want.
“I want you all to know that when you go back to your districts, you will have constituents who will be excited to be able to access this for their own use or their loved ones use and that's what this bill is all about,” said Senate Minority Leader Joan Heckamen.
Patients who will be eligible are those with debilitating or terminal illness or those with chronic medical issues that cause severe pain.
