ND Emergency Services issues apology for blue alert

By  |

(Fargo) Valley News Live The public information officer with North Dakota's Emergency Services told Valley News Live that her department wants to issue a "whole hearted apology to the people of North Dakota".
Cecily Fong's comment follows Thursday's issuing of blue alerts surrounding a man on the run, who is accused of trying to run down a Bismarck police officer.
It was the first time the alert was used in North Dakota. However, when it went out early Thursday afternoon, it contained no explanation as to what prompted it.
Fong says the failure occurred in the lack of information.
She added that a meeting with all organizations involved has already been scheduled for Friday.
More explanation will come Thursday night on 6:30 POV with Chris Berg. He will be talking live with the head of the ND DES as well as Bismarck's Chief of Police.
