Man arrested after high speed pursuit with ND and MN authorities led to several crashes

A man was arrested Wednesday following a high speed chase that began in North Dakota and ended in Minnesota and led to a multi-vehicle wreck.
Abdifatah Mohamud Jama,18, of Moorhead was arrested for Driving Under the Influence, Reckless Endangerment, and Fleeing Law Enforcement, according to a news release by North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the chase began at 8:10 a.m. when NDHP tried stopping Jama’s 2015 Chrysler 200.
A trooper saw the Chrysler traveling eastbound on I94 going 83 mph in a 55 mph zone on mile marker 349.
The trooper attempted to stop Jama, but he instead increased his speed to 95 mph and struck a vehicle near 25th St but didn’t stop, according to NDHP. The other motorist wasn’t injured.
Jama allegedly continued driving into Moorhead and exited I-94 at 8th St where he then stuck a Dodge Ram pickup, which caused a chain reaction involving five vehicles total.
Jama was taken into custody by NDHP without incident.
Minnesota State Patrol assisted NDHP with the situation.
