MOORHEAD, MN (Valley News Live) Saturday heavy snow forced St Franics de Sales Catholic Church to cancel services, which was very lucky because on Sunday noon the roof collapsed on the unoccupied sanctuary under the weight of wet snow.
Moorhead Fire Department says the roof came down on the kitchen area which would have been serving coffee at the time.
Two people were in the church at the time of the collapse, but they were able to get out safely.
Moorhead Fire Department says the church is not usable at the moment.
This was the third roof collapse caused by snow in the Fargo-Moorhead area Sunday.
