Missing Canadian soldier may be in Minnesota

(WCCO) The Roseau County sheriff is alerting the public about a missing Canadian soldier who may be in northern Minnesota.

Patrik Mathews hasn't been in contact with his family since august 24, shortly after being relieved of military duties over allegations of his involvement with hate groups. Canadian officials say his truck was found just north of the U.S. border near Minnesota's Lost River State Forest near Roseau.

Mathews has a background in explosives, and police stress he should not be approached. Anyone who sees him should contact the Roseau County sheriff, U.S. Border Patrol or their local law enforcement.
