March 1st being declared "Historic Moorhead Dairy Queen Day"

MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live)- In honor of its 70th anniversary, Moorhead Mayor Johnathan Judd has proclaimed March 1, 2019 “Historic Moorhead Dairy Queen Day.” The Historic Moorhead Dairy Queen, located at 24 8th Street South, Downtown Moorhead is one of the oldest and most iconic Dairy Queens in the nation and is credited with the creation of the Dilly Bar.

First built in 1949 by Bob and Phyllis Litherland, it’s now owned by Troy and Diane DeLeon who proudly follow in the founder’s footsteps of serving up smiles and tasty treats. On proclamation day the Historic Moorhead Dairy Queen will offer a small cone for 70 cents and their Homemade Dilly Bars for 70 cents.

Mayor Judd's proclamation will start at 1 p.m. followed by a ribbon cutting.
