TRAILL COUNTY, N.D. (Valley News Live) A tip from the public helped arrest a man who reportedly led law enforcement in the northern Valley on a multi-county chase before escaping.
Thomas Leonard Hibpshman Jr., 38, was arrested without incident at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday by Traill County deputies, according to Traill County Sheriff Steve Hunt.
Hibpshman was charged with fleeing a peace officer and reckless endangerment.
Sheriff Hunt said deputies arrested Hibpshman at a business in Portland, North Dakota.
The alleged pursuit began Monday at around 3:30 p.m. in East Grand Forks after Hibpshman fled from an attempted traffic stop and then crashed into another vehicle in Grand Forks.
He escaped law enforcement before eventually resurfacing in Traill County.
Hibpshman got his vehicle stuck attempting to cross the Goose River where he then fled on foot.
