Man arrested after escaping from police custody in Moorhead

MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live) (Update) - Moorhead police say a 20-year-old man from West Fargo was in handcuffs when he ran away on foot near Concordia College.

Henry Mitchell of West Fargo is in the Clay County Jail on several charges, including fleeing, according to jail records.

Police said Mitchell was originally stopped after someone reported a brick window was thrown their window.

Mitchell was being questioned in handcuffs when he decided to flee from police custody.

(Original) - Moorhead police officers arrested a man near Concordia College Wednesday night after he escaped from police custody.

The incident began at 714 8th St S in Moorhead at around 10:23 p.m., according to dispatch.

Police on scene tell us they arrested the man after a search that lasted for more than 30 minutes.

According to scanner traffic, the man was handcuffed at the time he fled from police on foot.
