Man arrested after allegedly leading police on chase and then jumping into the Sheyenne River

Police say around 3:00 Thursday afternoon, they tried pulling over the driver of a white Ford F150 in Horace.

After a short chase, police say the man crashed into a squad car and took off running. Police say the man, later identified as Jason Marinucci jumped into the Sheyenne River near Horseshoe Bend in Horace and swam across the river. Police were eventually able to arrest him. Police say this was the second time Marinucci hit a law enforcement vehicle.

Police say Marinucci had several felony warrants out for his arrest. Marinucci is facing a charge for violating his parole for meth possession in Minnesota, a felony charge for fleeing in a motor vehicle in Clay County in June, a reckless endangerment and fleeing charge in Cass County and weapons violations, assault and fleeing law enforcement.
