The Moorhead Police Department responded to a crash at the intersection of 12th Ave and 17th St S. A pickup truck hit an unoccupied vehicle.
A witness near the crash called 911 and said the driver, Adriel Jordan Lewis, fled the scene on foot.
Lewis tried to flag down a responding officer who was in an unmarked patrol vehicle. When Lewis saw it was a squad vehicle, he fled from the officer who tried detaining him.
Officers set up a perimeter and tracked Lewis' footprints in the snow. He had fled and went into a residential garage. A K9 found him hiding in the rafters of the garage. Lewis refused to surrender.
