Local businesses set up shop for Small Business Saturday

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) -- The weather didn't keep shoppers out of the stores on Saturday.
Many went to local shops for Small Business Saturday.

Nearly every store downtown and others in the metro were featuring great deals and free gifts.

Stores like Unglued, the Natural Pet Center, and Others boutique were some that participated.

"We've had people who've come from Hickson, and so the roads were terrible, and they still came for Small Business Saturday," said the owner of Unglued Ashley Morken. "So it's really cool because downtown's full of small businesses and independent boutiques that are locally owned and so it's a really great place for people to come shop small today, it's almost like a national holiday now."

Speaking of small businesses, Door Dash is encouraging customers to dine locally.

The food delivery service is offering $5 off orders of $10 or more at local restaurants in select cities.
