UPDATE: Police response to domestic assault results in felony charges

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - UPDATE: One man is behind bars following a domestic assault situation that resulted in police surrounding a house in north Fargo Thursday evening.

The call came in around 8:30 p.m. for a domestic assault on the 1100 block of 7th Avenue North.

Officers say they arrived on scene to find an injured female, who had been sprayed with lighter fluid during the assault.

The victim was treated and released by FM Ambulance, according to the department's Facebook post.

Police located the male after a brief search of the area to find Dajuan Wright, 39.

Wright was arrested on charges of domestic violence, aggravated assault and terrorizing. All are class C Felony charges.


ORIGINAL: Police have a house surrounded in a north Fargo Neighborhood.

The call came in around 8:30 this evening on a report of a domestic assault. There was also a report the victim was doused in lighter fluid. Police tell us the victim was able to get away. However, the suspect then ran into the house. Police tell us they searched the house but couldn't find him and then began searching the surrounding areas.

Police did not believe this man posed a threat to the public or was dangerous. A woman on the scene tells us the man was found a short time later about a block away.

We are waiting to hear back from police now for more details.
