Jamestown Police end high-speed chase, still looking for suspect

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (newsdakota.com) Jamestown Police called off a high-speed chase, but not before speeds hit close to 100 mph.

Major Justin Blinsky says police attempted to stop an SUV in the 300 block of Business Loop west for a traffic violation at around 11:30 Tuesday night.

The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and entered U.S. Highway 281, traveling south out of Jamestown.

Major Blinsky says the chase traveled along the highway and some gravel roads west of the highway.

Speeds reached upwards of 100 mph before the pursuit was stopped just after midnight.

Jamestown Police were assisted by the Stutsman County Sheriff’s office and North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The incident remains under investigation.
