GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Valley News Live)- Police say the two overdose deaths that happened in Grand Forks on Sunday and today are not connected in any way.

The Grand Forks Police Department says overdose deaths have been significantly decreasing the past few years.

"Well I don't think that our battle against opioids is by any means over, I think that we've made great strides in addressing it in our community and really decreasing the number significantly," says Lt. Brett Johnson.

Lt. Johnson says the dramatic decrease in opioid overdose deaths is because of the community wide outreach program put in place by the mayor.
