Grand Forks Police respond to train vs vehicle crash

GRAND FORKS, ND (Valley News Live) - A woman was taken to the hospital after her vehicle was struck by a train in Grand Forks.

Around 11 a.m. Sunday officials responded to the crash at Demers Ave. and 42nd St.

Officials say the BNSF train was traveling east at about 10 MPH when it struck the vehicle of 87-year-old Theresa Knutson of Grand Forks.

Knutson’s vehicle was pushed off the roadway and onto BNSF property, east of N 42nd St.

Knutson was transported to Altru Hospital for possible minor injuries.

There were no reported injuries or damages from BNSF staff.

Knutson was cited for Failure to Obey Railroad Crossing.
