Gov. Walz to visit Moorhead as city prepare for flood threat

MOORHEAD, MN (Valley News Live) Governor Tim Walz will visit Moorhead to hear from local officials about their planning for expected flooding along the Red River of the North.

The City of Moorhead declared a local emergency on Friday as the community prepares for the flood threat in the days and weeks ahead.

Extreme winter weather conditions, record snowfall in the months of January and February, a late thaw, and recent precipitation are all contributing to a higher than normal risk of widespread flooding throughout Minnesota.
