Five people hospitalized after 4th floor apartment balcony collapses in Grand Forks

Five people were injured after the fourth floor apartment balcony they were standing on in Grand Forks collapsed early Saturday morning. Emergency personnel were at the apartment complex at 3880 Garden View Drive on an unrelated call when the report of the balcony collapse at the complex came in. All five people people who fell from the balcony were taken to Alltru hospital and their conditions are not known. The full press release call be seen below.

On 06/08/2019, at approximately 2:33 AM, five individuals were on a 4th floor balcony at 3880 Garden View Dr. when it collapsed. An officer from the Grand Forks Police Department, Altru Paramedics, and personnel from the Grand Forks Fire Department were at the apartment complex for an unrelated call involving individuals who were stuck in an elevator when the balcony collapse occurred. The individuals in the elevator sustained no injuries and were freed from the stuck elevator without incident. The five individuals who fell from the 4th floor balcony were all transported to the Altru ER. The victims sustained various degrees of injuries, however their current conditions are not known. The names of the victims who were transported to the hospital are not being released at this time.
