Five people arrested in Fargo stolen vehicle case

Wednesday morning, the Metro Street Crimes Unit found a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of Grand Inn at 3402 14th Ave. S. in Fargo.

While detectives were waiting for additional assistance, a second vehicle pulled into the parking lot, driven by the registered owner of the stolen vehicle. Police say a passenger got out of the car and went into the stolen vehicle with someone else.

Police say 23-year-old Andrew John Patrick Collison walked out of Grand Inn and started running towards the stolen vehicle. Police say the driver of the other car hit Collison and then the Grand Inn building. Those in the stolen vehicle then got into the second car and took off.

Fargo officers eventually stopped the second vehicle in the 2400 block of 9th Ave. S. The driver, along with three passengers were removed from the car. Collison was found near the Grand Inn and was detained after a short pursuit.

23-year-old Andrew John Patrick Collison was arrested for marijuana possession, refusing to halt, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, false information to law enforcement and an open warrant.

24-year-old Linda Lou Poitra was arrested for marijuana possession, misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession, and possession of meth (first offense).

19-year-old Shawn Michael Schwandt was arrested for aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and possession of delta-1 marijuana wax.

18-year-old James Edward Martinez was arrested for ingesting a controlled substance, misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession, and possession of meth (first offense).

28-year-old Michael David Schaffer was arrested for a probation violation.
