Fire Department investigating ammonia leak at Perham Egg Plant

PERHAM, Minn. (Valley News Live)- The Perham Fire Department is on the scene of an ammonia leak at Perham Egg.

An official with the police department tells us, fire crews arrived on scene after reports of strong scents of ammonia. Crews are investigating to see what caused the leak now, it’s believed it was caused by an equipment malfunction.

No one was working in the plant during the time of the leak. The officer we spoke with tells us, officials from the plant are working with the fire department to clear the scene now. No one was injured in the incident.
