FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - Local activists say Fargo made history Tuesday night.
Thanks to voters approving the city's Measure One, the group 'Reform Fargo' says Fargo is now the first city in the country to move to an approval voting system. That's where voters can weigh in individually on all of the candidates instead of just one or two.
"If you believe in someone, you should be able to vote for them. And we think that with a better system like this, we will see better participation and trust in our local government," says Jed Limke, the Chair of Reform Fargo.
The measure passed with nearly 64% of the vote.
