Fargo firefighters and Valley Water Rescue pulled a body from the Red River in north Fargo Thursday morning.

The body of a man was found about 6:00 a.m. south of the 12th Avenue North bridge while crews were getting ready to remove a pile of debris from the water.

Moorhead Police tell Valley News Live that based on clothing, the body is believed to be 29-year-old David Michael Tikayne who had been missing since June 5th.

The body is being sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner in the Twin Cities for an autopsy and positive identification.

Tikayne reportedly entered the Red River near 1st Ave. North in Moorhead but there were conflicting witness statements about whether he was able to swim to shore.

Several previous searches for him had come up empty.
