ORIGINAL: Authorities are continuing to investigate the death of two people in rural Perham. Once the community got word about the deaths, people told us, they were in shock and heartbroken.

"I didn't know anything about them but like I said, nobody deserves that, nobody deserves having their time be decided for them," says a nearby neighbor.

A distant neighbor we spoke with says, he has lived in the Perham area for quite some time. He tells us, he’s never seen or heard anything like this happening here.

"It's kind of twisted that someone has it in them to physically cause that harm to someone else and decide when your time is, it shouldn’t be that way. Everybody has a time when they go, nobody else can decide that, only you," says the neighbor.

It all started shortly after 5 Tuesday morning, when deputies responded to a report of an assault at a home in a rural area in the middle of Perham and Frazee. When they arrived on scene, they found 2 people dead.

Valley News Live spoke with a man who says he's the husband and father of the two people who died. He tells us, he’s still trying to figure out what happened. And so are authorities, they tell us, the investigation is ongoing.
