Family & friends gather to remember beloved Fargo man who gave so much

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live)- A community is mourning tonight following the death of a much loved man.

Dozens of people came out to remember Jason Halvorson Friday night in north Fargo. Family and friends tells us he would give the shirt off his back and his last dollar to anyone who needed it. He was involved in charities and was the owner of a well-known food truck in the area. Friends tells us he was patriotic and loved his country.

We had a chance to talk to Jason’s girlfriend, Jodi Sylva. As you can imagine, she’s in disbelief and shock.

“He's just going to be remembered for his personality. He loved everybody, he loved life. He loved his dog, his dog is his daughter. Everybody just loved him and he's shining down on us. I talked to him today, he's at peace. He’s watching over us,” says Jason Halvorson’s girlfriend, Jodi Sylva.

Someone else special at the vigil was Jason’s dog who we're told he loved so much.

“He just made every laugh and everybody smile. He was all about making people smile, and having such a good time. And it's so tragic, so tragic that someone would want to take his life. He had so much good to offer people,” says Sylva.

A GoFundMe page has been created. You can find the link to that here:
