UPDATE: 62-year old man dies after getting stuck in grain bin, according to deputies

TWIN VALLEY, Minn. (Valley News Live)- UPDATE:

Deputies have released the name of the man who was found dead in a grain bin near Twin Valley Thursday afternoon.

They say Gerald Chisholm of rural Gary, Minnesota died in the accident. His body has been sent to Grand Forks for an autopsy.



A 62-year old man is dead after police say he got trapped inside a grain bin near Twin Valley.

Authorities with the Norman County Sheriff’s Department say Thursday afternoon they got a report of a man trapped inside the bin in Strand Township.

Deputies tell us the man was found dead in the bin. His body has been taken to Grand Forks for an autopsy.

The investigation is ongoing.


Emergency crews are reportedly trying to rescue someone from a grain bin near Twin Valley, Minnesota.

R & J Broadcasting is reporting that emergency crews were called to the site between Gary and Twin Valley around 1:15 Thursday afternoon on a report of someone trapped in the bin.

R & J Broadcasting is also reporting that as of 3:30 Thursday afternoon, crews were still moving the grain and had not yet found the person inside.
