MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live)- UPDATE:
Officials with the Fargo Police Department tell us a second witness came forward about two hours into the search, who spoke to the man who jumped off the bridge.
According to the witness, the man said he was just trying to have fun. The witness also reported that there was another man apparently filming the incident, and there were others present.
At this time, none of the parties involved or the vehicle have been identified. Fargo Police say the search was called off after this information was discovered.
The search continues for someone who possibly jumped into the river from the Center Avenue bridge in Moorhead.
Officials tell us they have used a number of different search methods including air surveillance to find someone who could have jumped off the bridge. They have also been in contact with the person who made the original call, claiming to see a man jump in the river. Authorities say that person will be asked to show them exactly where they saw the person jump off the bridge. From there, k-9 units will be used to help in their search.
In the meantime, officials are continuing their search.
Emergency crews are combing through the Red River right now following a report of a man who possibly jumped off the Center Avenue Bridge in Moorhead.
The details are slim right now but officials on the scene say a passerby saw someone jump off the bridge and into the water. Crews are continuing to search the area now.
