Elderly man killed in rear-end crash south of Jamestown

NEAR MONTPELIER, ND (Valley News Live) An elderly North Dakota man is dead and another person is injured after a rear-end crash on a highway south of Jamestown.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says two vehicles were traveling on Highway 46 near Montpelier around 6:30 Monday night, when the front vehicle was rear-ended.

That car rolled in the ditch and the driver who was thrown from the vehicle was killed. He was an 80-year-old man from Montpelier.

The other driver was treated at the Jamestown hospital for injuries. Police identify him as Damon smith of Litchville, ND. No charges have been filed, but the crash is still being investigated.
