Dickey Co. emergency manager worried about fires today

DICKEY COUNTY, ND (Valley News Live) An emergency manager in the southern valley says things could go bad in a big hurry Thursday, if any fires ignite.

Charlie Russell of Dickey County, ND, says vegetation is dry, humidity is very low, and winds are gusting and that combination could make a small grass fire grow out of control quickly.

There's worry especially for the Fullerton area, because flood waters have closed some roads and getting emergency vehicles where they need to be could be tough.

Russell has already asked for mutual aid help if any fires start, and is even on Facebook telling farmers and grain elevators workers that they might be called on to help.
