MEDINA, N.D. (newsdakota.com) The quick actions of several Stutsman County Deputies helped save a hunter who's canoe capsized in a slough south of Medina Monday morning.
The Sheriff's Department reports that a call was received just before 11 AM from a group of hunters who could not reach one of their party in a deep slough.
Deputies arrived before other responding agencies. Deputies Jason Falk, Brian Davis, and Damian Hoyt put on issued suits that act as flotation devices and swam in cold water to the 30 year-old man.
The Pennsylvania man had been in the water while hanging on to his canoe for roughly 30 minutes.
He was transported to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center. Deputy Falk was also examined at the JRMC and released.
No one was seriously injured.
