Crookston police charge Walmart employee for slapping customer's cell phone

CROOKSTON, M.N. - (Valley News Live) A Minnesota Walmart employee will be charged after she allegedly knocked a cell phone out of the hand of a customer as he was recording, according to police.

The incident happened Sunday at around 6:30 p.m. at the Walmart on Sahlstrom Drive in Crookston.

In a press release issued Friday, police determined that Joshua Baatz, 25 was assaulted by Walmart employee Patricia Medrano, 53, of Grand Forks.

Medrano was caught on cell phone video slapping Baatz' cell phone while she was reviewing his receipt.

The Crookston City Attorney has filed a complaint in Polk County District Court for disorderly conduct against Medrano.
