FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - Fargo held a celebration Tuesday night to kick off the official grand opening of its new city hall.
There was music, tours and remarks from Mayor Tim Mahoney.
Mayor Mahoney shared why there was such a need for the new building.
Sitting on 4th street in downtown Fargo, the 150,000 square foot structure will be able to hold over 200 employees.
“We have more people than we had in 1960. Basically, we have outgrown the building and so this building really satisfies the need not only for the needs of now, but we can put on an extra floor if we need to in the future and we have extra space for extra employees," says Mahoney.
The new city hall was designed to house municipal operations into the next century.
