Child struck by vehicle in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Valley News Live) UPDATE: There's new information on a child who was hit by a car in Jamestown. Police have not yet released the victim's name, but a GoFundMe account says the girl was airlifted to a Fargo hospital with severe injuries including a fractured skull, multiple broken bones and internal injuries.

Police say the accident happened Wednesday afternoon near Lincoln Elementary School in Jamestown.

ORIGINAL STORY: Emergency personnel responded to a child struck by a vehicle south of Lincoln Elementary School Wednesday afternoon.

Jamestown Police Officer Andrew Staska confirms the accident happened after 3 PM near at the intersection of 4th Street NE and 4th Avenue NE.

"I was in the area and responded," Officer Staska reports. "I can confirm that a female has been hit by a vehicle and that's all we have at this time."

The child has been transported to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries. More information will become available once the report is filed.
