Cause of bad gas in Moorhead is due to small crack in pipe

UPDATE: Vice President of Operations Rick Johnson says the Holiday station on 28th Ave S. in Moorhead MN had an isolated issue of water in a fuel tank on May 18 for a limited time period.

Johnson says the affected tank was shut down and all fuel sold since then has been water free.

The cause of the shut down was due to a small crack in a pipe that allowed ground water into the tank

Holiday says they are actively working with the affected customers.

ORIGINAL: Drivers pulling into a local convenience store for a certain type of gas likely will be inconvenienced for a few days. The Holiday station, just off of Interstate 94 along 35th street in Moorhead, has suspended sales of 87 octane unleaded gasoline. An employee says they suspect some water may have gotten into the tank. They're not sure when the matter will be cleared up, but they are still selling 89 octane, premium and diesel fuel.
