Big fish likely ND's largest walleye ever caught
It looks like a new record for walleye in North Dakota. Tom Volk of Lincoln says the state game and fish department has confirmed that the walleye he hooked Sunday is the biggest ever caught in North Dakota.
Volk pulled a 16 pound, 9 ounce walleye from the Heart River -- it's 32.5 inches long.
He brought the fish into a scale at a nearby gas station, and then game and fish took it to another scale to have it verified.
Volk's catch beats the old record of 15 pounds 13 ounces that was set just last May.
