NBC - There's a growing wave of Social Security Imposters.
That's according to the Federal Trade Commission.
Up until now, scammers pretending to be from the IRS have been the most common way to trick people into sending money.
But now, Social Security Administration imposters are on the increase.
So, don't be caught off guard by these new scammers.
Don't trust caller ID even if the call shows up as the social security administration.
And never give the caller your social security number or other personal information.
Just remember, the Social Security Administration will not contact you out of the blue.
