JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Valley News Live) -- Bond has been set at $500,000 for a Montpelier, North Dakota, man who is charged with murder.

Kevin Michael Hoff, who made his initial appearance in Stutsman County Court on Tuesday, was charged with murder after he called police Sunday to say he had shot and killed his ex-wife, 25-year-old Nicole Gututala-Hoff, in the parking lot of a Jamestown apartment building.

The 37-year-old Hoff appeared before Judge Jay Schmitz in Southeast District Court. Once his preliminary court date is set, he will be arraigned and a plea will be entered.
