FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live): If you are looking to become a better cook or pick a better cut of meat you might want to enroll in upcoming NDSU BBQ Boot Camp. The upcoming boot camp will be Tuesday, May 23 at 5 p.m. in North Fargo.
BBQ Boot Camp instructors introduce participants to grilling methods, including smoking and cooking with gas and charcoal. Instructors describe the merits of various meat cuts and explain how cooking temperatures, humidity and the composition of the meat from different animal species can affect the barbecuing process. Participants also learn about nutrition, food safety and techniques such as using rubs, marinades and seasonings.
The boot camp cost $30 and includes a full meal, including traditional barbecue side dishes.
Space is limited in the boot camp and you must register by Friday, May 19. The camp will take place at the NDSU Beef Cattle Research Complex which is located by near 19th Ave North and I-29.
