Authorities release names of victims involved in Mahnomen County wreck

MAHNOMEN COUNTY, Minn. (Valley News Live) UPDATE: Names of the victims involved in the fatal crash in Mahnomen County released.

Alexis Clark, 23, of Fertile, MN, was killed in the crash on Wednesday, and six others were injured, including Thelma Vanvalkenburgh, 81, of Naytahwaush, MN; Holly Alger, 56, of Mahnomen, MN; Chris Kier, 27, of Naytahwaush, MN; and three children aged 5 years, 2 years, and 10 months.

Original: Seven people were involved in a deadly head-on collision in Mahnomen County.

The two vehicle wreck happened on Wednesday at approximately 5:40 p.m. on 250th St east of County road 3, according to the Mahnomen County Sheriff's Office.

Mahnomen County deputies said the two vehicles crashed into each other at the crest of a hill.

Four adults and three children were injured with one of the adults dying as a result of their injuries, according to Sheriff Josh Guenther.

Six of those involved in the wreck were flown to a Fargo hospital while one was taken via ambulance.

Deputies said they won’t be releasing the name of the person who died until family members are notified.
