MANDAN, N.D. (KFYR) -- Two people were taken to a hospital after two pit bulls attacked them on Sunday.

The Mandan Police Department says officers responded to a call of two dogs attacking an adult and a child around 7 p.m.

According to police, the dogs escaped from their yard and attacked the two victims.

Lt. Pat Haug with the Mandan Police Department says one dog was found but the other is on the loose.

Haug says they issued a Code Red notification to let neighbors around 2nd Street NW and 10th Avenue NW in Mandan about the dog not being captured.

Both victims have significant injuries to their legs and feet, but the injuries are non-life threatening.

Police continue to look for the male pit bull with a docked tail and a blue collar.
