Armed robbery in Moorhead

MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live) UPDATE: We have new information on a reported armed robbery in Moorhead: A man says he was robbed at gunpoint after offering a stranger a ride Tuesday night on the city's south side.

It happened around 9 p.m. near 11th Street and 36th Avenue South.

Police, along with Clay County deputies and the state patrol, set up a perimeter and did a K9 track, but came up empty.

There were unconfirmed reports that the suspect was about six feet tall and was wearing a black winter coat, but police are not confirming any description.

Police have set up a perimeter in Moorhead and are looking for a suspect after an armed robbery this evening.

Police responded to 36th Avenue and 11th Street South around 9:20pm.

Unconfirmed reports indicate the suspect is six feet tall, wearing a black winter coat and carrying a pistol.

He was seen running south from the area.
Scanner traffic also indicates the suspect got away with two wallets.
