About half of adults experience some type of back pain

NBC - Nearly half (45-percent) of adults experience some type of back pain.

That's according to a new Canadian study of nearly 13,000 people.

One in five reported constant pain and one in three developed back pain over time.

Both of these groups tended to have more disability, depression and medication use than those with occasional pain.

One in five people with back pain did recover but many continued to use opioids.
