Nine children were on a Polaris Ranger in Becker County when it tipped on its side and sent several kids to the hospital.

The Becker County Sheriff says the crash happened around 8:30 P.M. on Tuesday night on 560th Avenue, in Runeberg Township.

Sheriff Todd Glander says an 11-year-old boy was driving the side by side (UTV) southbound on 560th Avenue when he swerved to avoid hitting a dog. The vehicle tipped when the driver swerved.

A 6-year-old boy was taken from the scene by North Memorial Air Care with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.

Five of the children were transported by ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit Lakes. Three others were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids.

All of the kids on the ATV were between the ages of six and eleven. The incident is still under investigation.
