The trend of people putting gold coins in Salvation Army red kettles in the Fargo area is really catching on.
It's been happening for more than 10 years now and just this weekend 3 more showed up.
The Salvation Army says three gold coins were found in separate red kettles on Saturday.
One was a gold liberty coin worth approximately $1,151. The other two were 1/10 ounce coins worth approximately $140 each.
“Once again, the generosity of the Fargo Moorhead community never ceases to amaze me. We are grateful for the outpouring of support we receive,” stated Major Byron Medlock, Fargo Moorhead Salvation Army Officer.
