MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live)- A 14-year old is expected to be okay after police say they were hit by a car while riding their bike near the intersection of 12th Ave. and 34th Street South in Moorhead Tuesday afternoon.
An officer with the Moorhead Police Department says the 14-year old was heading eastbound on 12th Avenue when a driver who stopped for a red light at the intersection, crashed into him. Police say that driver didn’t see any cars and that’s why they continued to turn after stopping.
The 14-year old was taken by ambulance from the scene and is facing non-life threatening injuries.
Police tell us the driver was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
Emergency crews responded to a report of a child vs. vehicle shortly after 1:30 Tuesday afternoon in Moorhead.
Our reporter on scene says the child was taken away from the scene at 12th ave and 34th Street South by ambulance with what appeared to be minor injuries.
