The West Fargo Police Department announced on October 30th that they will be offering a new scholarship to enroll residents in the Project Lifesaver Program.
The West Fargo Police Department is naming the scholarship after six year old David Lemi, who drowned after walking away from his West Fargo home.
Project Lifesaver provides transmitters to individuals who have cognitive conditions like autism or Alzheimer's. Each transmitter is given its own individual frequency, meaning a family member can call 911 and give dispatch the frequency number. This number will allow law enforcement to track the individual and ensure they get back home to their loved ones safely.
