Veteran shot, killed after argument with woman over Walmart parking space, authorities say

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Gray News) - A 62-year-old man died after being shot by a woman following an argument over a Walmart parking space in Florida, according to authorities.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting a shooting in the parking lot of a Florida Walmart, a press release said.

When deputies arrived, they found 61-year-old Bart Diguglielmo suffering from a gunshot wound.

Authorities said Diguglielmo had been taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Police confirmed that the two had been in an argument over a parking space before the shooting. According to a release, the unidentified woman remained at the scene, cooperated with police, and said she shot Diguglielmo in self-defense.

Diguglielmo’s daughter, Amanda, spoke with Local 10, calling her father a “good man” and saying he previously served in the military and was a former emergency room trauma nurse. He was also a father of three.

The woman was not arrested at the scene. At this time, no charges have been filed.
