FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - Local business experts are weighing in on the importance of small businesses amid recent closures in Fargo.

Hannah Bettenhausen is a coach, consultant, and motivational speaker with 654 Business Strategies. She knows everything there’s to know about business, and strives to keep small ones open.

“Since I’ve been focusing on small businesses, I’ve seen at least 50 small businesses close their doors,” she says.

Most recently closing their doors is Kindred People, a boutique in downtown Fargo, and Uncorked Lounge, a West Fargo self-serve wine bar. They both announced their closures in the same week.

“Nobody knew these places were hurting,” she adds.

With hurting businesses, Hannah took to social media, offering her services to anyone who might be struggling.

She’s willing to work with anyone who has ever put their heart and souls into their business... before it’s too late.

She and other local business managers remind us to shop local.

Valley News Live previously spoke with Nicole Kolbe, Store Manager at Kindred People, who said, “It’s always a good idea to shop local... you might be helping some business with their dream, the American dream, that’s being fulfilled by you being a part of the community.”

Keeping that community alive is a top priority for Bettenhausen.

“We’re here to help. We’re not always in it for the dollar,” she says.
