Flood waters surround rural Barnesville home
BARNESVILLE, Minn. (Valley News Live) - The flood fight is just beginning, but it’s already causing problems at a rural Barnesville, Minnesota home.
As the snow starts to melt, water is moving fast in this area of rural Clay County. The driveway and entire front yard was completely flooded out on the evening of Monday, April 10. the family tells us the water has also made it inside the home.
The homeowners called for help Monday night and crews from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office went to the property to try and clear out the culvert.
”My Grandma was here, and the house just basically started flooding,” explains Lillian Anderson. The water just started coming in like crazy, and our whole house got flooded.”
The family blames the flooding on the extreme amount of snow this winter.
